Peace of Mind
Baby monitor
Product aim: Helping parents find their rhythm, not routine.
Brief product overview: A portable ultrasound monitor that is versatile in where it can be used. Designed to make user experience extremely easy with it being simple, small and key feature of carrying under arm.
Designed to have few features makes it simple to use and reduces stress by not monitoring down to the last detail.
Partner app allows parent(s) to log key parts of baby's daily rhythm to suggest when is best to do something like work or exercise. It is simply set up in whichever nearby room/place is near to parent(s) for easy check up and peace of mind that baby is so close.
Key reseaech findings:
1/5 women and 1/10 men are affected by mental health problems during a pregnancy and in the first year after birth
Too many features increase parent stress: Lullaby trust (charity) has said that there is no evidence for motion tracking every 20 seconds stopping sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)
"Day 1 he was being watched on a monitor when i would be downstairs or showering. I have a toddler as well” - one mothers baby monitor usage
There is so many different opinions about how to go about your day with your baby it can be overwhelming and seem as if the motehr is doing something wrong.
My key finding is to aim at helping mothers find a rythm not a routine
